Atlanta, GAYou have dees? At what nesting stage? They will accept a wren guard. The best time is during egg laying but with HOWR around it’s worth a try at any time. It has to be removed at 11-12 days for fledging.

Atlanta, GAIf incubation is interrupted the eggs won’t hatch. Typically they can’t go to rehab. I have put grass in entrance holes many times. Just wedge a piece in there and see what happens. If it remains there for two days the eggs will not be viable and you can remove everything once the male stops hanging around. But please wait for that to happen with him.

Atlanta, GAIt traps the snake in it. A trapped snake should be released and that’s always fun. If you trap a snake in a Krueger trap, you should try not to leave it there any longer than you have to. The birds will be terrified!

Atlanta, GAYou’re going to have to make the HOWR give up the cause and it might take as much as a week or so. I blocked the entrances to my boxes. Nobody desirable can use them but then the HOWR can’t either. Also try to make sure there are no other cavity nesting possibilities in the area if you can.
EABL seem to know sticks mean HOWR and wisely reject a box when they see them.
