Doing well. I have a 17 mos old granddaughter that is just such a delight and one more on the way. I’ll include a couple of photos later.

Is that what you all are doing? Just continue to remove sticks? I don’t have a problem, but my friend does.

Thanks. In all these years this is my third time that this has happened. It’s a nightmare. Once they know they can leave, you can not keep them in. Walking back there right now to watch and see if they are feeding them. I think another day will be sufficient.

What are you using for bait? This does happen quite often to me too.

Judy, is it a HOSP nest that you put back in or a bluebird nest?

Welcome back, Courtney. Grosbeaks are beautiful. I don’t have them at this house but I’ve had them in the past.

Yep, I’m with you. My blurry avatar isn’t worth all the time it took. And I don’t have the patience to jump through hoops to add a photo to my messages.

Ha! That might be fun. Scaring them away by keeping a drone right outside the door ready to fly! But, no. I won’t probably ever have a drone. Too expensive and just not me. It’s a creative idea though!!

My husband is brainwashed now and is in with me totally. I couldn’t see your photos. This site really makes adding photos impossible.

Weird. My original one was on there still and I changed it. But this one isn’t sized right I guess because it is blurry.

I saw this on FB recently. Weird and cool at the same time!

I don’t leave mealworms out or they would freeze. I wait for my bluebirds to show up and then I throw a few out on my patio. They gobble them up in record time. And then they come back later for more. Same with suet. Other birds eat both too, like the little pine warbler that is coming, house sparrows (grr), juncos. The blue jays haven’t been interested in my mealies but they would eat my suet. (I’m sure if they found my mealworms they’d like them too)
What are you feeding the blues in your feeder? Mealworms, dried mealworms?
Next year try to keep feeding them. They are here in sub 0 temps even. I was gone for 5 weeks recently and within a couple of days of getting back they were already eating my food again.
They do come and go sometimes but usually they come back in a few days.

I knew I would be in this dilemma at some point, not being ready for a presentation. I should have been working on it. I wish my Bluebird Society was more helpful. I suggested that they have resources available for their area contacts but so far nothing. I’ll email them and see if maybe someone they know has some. I didn’t pursue this, they pursued me.
