Atlanta, GAAnesthesiologist? You guys are the heroes of the OR because you keep the patients alive! Well, most of the time anyway. :-) In any case, they are for sure out of pain. I have a friend who only works cardiac cases and I tell him what a hero he is all the time. He is actually on call 24 hours and then off 72. Works for him. Before a surgery so many people blow off the meeting with anesthesia and they are so ignorant. That meeting is important but they just don’t get that. One patient told Rob that he didn’t want to talk to him. Rob was like you would rather have me in there than go without.
See? I have absolutely no problem when a thread doesn’t stay on topic. I always think it’s interesting to see where a thread goes.

What I do when I read about the problems here is brainstorm. Sometimes with success, sometimes not. The extra foam can’t hurt at all.

Atlanta, GAFledging is so hard to witness unless you can watch all day for several days. I have seen only a couple of EABL fledge events and one TUTI fledging which was the funniest thing ever. One little guy stayed in the hole for a really long time, alternating his butt and head in the hole. He just couldn’t decide.

Have you ever seen a CACH, TUTI or a BHNU nest? The holes are totally blocked. The BHNU does what is called “calking” in all of the seams and corners. No air exchange allowed. That is why cross ventilation is so important. You never know what kind of bird will choose a box.

No way can a squirrel size cone or cylinder baffle stop a raccoon. The arms are too long.
