If they have already started a nest elsewhere it doesn’t hurt to let these sit awhile.

I’d just leave it for a few more days, just in chance it would hatch. It’s not likely too but I always err on the side of caution. After that you can remove it. Just reach in and pick it up with your fingers. (don’t use tweezers) If you touch the babies it is no big deal. I have to do it often to count the babies etc. Eggs rarely break inside the nest. I’ve never had one break.

Yay on your 4 eggs!

19! that’s amazing. I’m freezing them for a person who needs them for taxidermy. Not sure what they do with them. So I’m motivated to trap. Any competition is good for me. I wish I caught 19!

a lot of drama on the forum right now! Glad you momma is attentive.
Tammy
Isn’t looking good for those eggs. The momma might have been wooed by another male and gave up on those eggs. Let us know if you see her.

Carol, a flat nest would make me think the babies fledged…no chance of that right? I’d just leave both nests alone until they decide. You girls are having all sorts of issues!
Tammy
Pami, If you waited 21 days and if these are not new eggs for sure…I’d just remove them. Nest and all.
Tammy
I love the trap too Rich! Have 4 in there right now….three new ones.
Tammy
Yay!
Tammy
That is rare but we hear about it occasionally.

Looking good!

If you are afraid that she isn’t laying because of the mylar then you should remove it to see. Or put up one piece of mylar at a time.
