If you’ve had HOSP attacks, would set up that Van Ert in other box & stick around to see if you can trap HOSP. I’ve heard from people here that fishing line version can work, but the sparrow spooker as we know it has 3 rows of Mylar hanging down to touch top of box on both sides (6 Mylar strips total). Sialis site shows pics.

      Hope it all works out!

Thinking the same as Carol. He’s a beauty! Surely, he’ll find a mate. Sure hope so!

Vanessa- If you do find that Titmouse nest is still active, I think you can use a hole reducer to keep EABL out. Forget the exact size. Think it’s 1.25″?

So so sorry, Renee! Wonder if they would accept the wren guard?

                    Oh, Donna-

So so sorry! I’ll let the more experienced ones comment on the eggs. Maybe that male will find a new mate & come back. Hope so. Hang in there!

So glad all fledgelings & mom are all still doing well! Hope she & new mate nest with you again. Don’t have TRES where I live, but I know a lot of people on this site do. Hope all continues to go well!

Ok, Scot- http://www.sparrowtraps.net from Blaine Johnson. Paid ~ $25 for it. Also, just saw that on this site under topics, there’s “how to make a wren guard.” Hope that helps!

Thanks to Cher for providing this forum for us all!

Thanks for clarifying, Donna, about the 1 & 1/8″ hole reducer. I got one for that very reason in case I get Dees. Glad to know that you’re helping them along!

Scot, I went online & bought my sparrow spooker & pretty sure most people make their wren guards. Don’t get HOWR, so will let others comment on wren guard. Will look to see where I purchased spooker & get back to you. Lots of people make theirs, too. Think Sialis site outlines how to make/provide both (pretty sure).

Got a good laugh out of that, Scot. So very glad they’ve returned to the original box. Hope they have several hatchlings!

                                  Hi Scot-

So glad the little one fledged! There is a good chance you’ll see that baby again a couple of weeks down the road if he/she makes it through that time. My first brood fledged a few weeks ago & exactly 2 weeks later, the fledgelings were coming around with the parents to the feeder & bird fountain. Since the parents are nesting so soon again in your yard, I imagine it could be sooner. Others that have more experience could comment on what they’ve witnessed. I do hope they decide to renest in the same box & not the woodpecker box. Best of luck!
