Phillyblues….That would be a great anniversary gift‼️ They might even use the swallow nest and put their finishing touches on it. Check both boxes for bees and ants. Good luck and Happy Anniversary.

Connie…That’s exciting to have one more surprise egg. Hopefully the eggs all hatched today.
It’s been 10 days since my BB fledged, but I have not seen any of them yet. Parents started a new nest yesterday. Did you have to wait long to see your fledglings? I’m really enjoying watching all bird action. Happy birding.

Lisa, that’s some super fast turnaround‼️ I wonder if it could be a different pair? Having 3 nests with 5 eggs each is awesome. Congratulations.
I took my front yard box in and the very next morning they were out there looking for it. I quickly put the box back out…..wrens returned also. This pair decided to build in the back yard box instead. Might have an egg tomorrow. They had a 10 day turnaround.
I have another pair I hope will be able to get into front BB box when they return. Hoping mr wren finds a girlfriend down the road.

Rich….That is great news‼️ So cool going from no bluebirds in years to an explosion of blues. They are fun to watch, I sure enjoy the ones that visit my yard. It’s also wonderful all the neighbors are on the same page. You and your neighbors keep up the good work in helping out the bluebird population. Let us know at the end of the season how many bluebirds have fledged from your area. Go Blue‼️

I went out and removed the box. I will put it back when I see the Bluebirds sitting on the shepherds hook. I think it’s a great idea, because the wrens wanted that box in the worst way. I hope it works…..maybe the wrens will find a better spot down the road…lol. Thanks again for that tip.

Exciting news Phillyblues‼️ It never gets old seeing them hanging around the yard. I love the mister bluebird in flight photo…..thanks for sharing. Good luck with your new nest.

Great pictures as always‼️ They are such a joy to see. Keep the pictures coming.

Thanks for the tip David. I was wondering how long before they return to build another nest. Yesterday was a week……I saw both the male and female show up in the evening, but they didn’t stay long. Saw mister blue today look in the box. I wish I had seen your post last week because I have been removing wren sticks about 3 times a day, for the last week. Wish me luck on getting this wren to move on‼️

Connie….looks like it’s turning out to be a good season. I think your weather is similar to ours here in MI, still kinda wet and cool…..strange for sure. I hope to get another nest after my two boxes fledge on Monday and next Saturday. Congratulations…Happy Birding.

Yup…..this sounds very promising‼️ One of my nesting pair of bluebirds took over a nest that swallows had been building, complete with white feathers. They removed the feathers and added their finishing touches. Bingo….instant nest. Good luck.

Team work! Thanks for sharing the chickadee photos. Looks like there are 4 hatchlings and one, maybe two eggs that didn’t hatch? Keep the pictures coming, they will only get cuter each day. Interesting nest….what is the white fluffy material?
Judy-Michigan
Phillyblues, so sorry this has happened. We watch these birds work so hard building their nests, brooding the eggs and feeding the hatchlings. Especially this one trying to do it on her own. It’s a real downer! Maybe with a little luck another pair will come by soon and start building. Best wishes.

David….you never know, maybe this time mama blue will lay six! Keep us posted.

You do a great job with your photos. I take a few shots with my iPhone, but they always seem too dark. Hope #5 egg shows up today. Everyone have a wonderful weekend!
Judy-Michigan
Connie, I have never seen chickadee babies….lucky you! They seem to be sweet little birds. In the winter when I fill the bird feeders they will stay within a foot away from me watching and waiting. All in the joy of birding.
