Third nest are 18 days old today and I have one day off. Mom and dad are feeding them like crazy this morning. I have a feeling it’s not today. Boo…I always miss it!

Me too Connie! I should be off that day! This bunch is special to me as I saved them from a snake just by sheer luck!

My box is on a metal pole with snake trap (garden mesh) about 3 feet from my aluminum golf course fence. The other night I took the dogs out and found a snake probably a foot long curled up on the fence right behind the box. I don’t know how much they can stretch but he would have been able to slide over that trap. They really have a keen sense of smell for those nestlings.

Waiting for my third brood to hatch…Should be in 2 days. I have been awful this year with a broken ankle and couldn’t get the wren guard or styrofoam roof up. Thank goodness temps went from the 90’s to 80’s this week..

Agreed Tammy! So I am a little confused about when they should hatch. Today is day 14 and not yet

Love it Cari, keep us posted. And praying you don’t get that awful heat this year!. We are more normal this year, in the 90’s, so I worry. But last year mine kept going until August. Hope this is the last brood.

This is round 3. 9 fledged so far. A good year with no mishaps. Unless the heat gets awful. Always a possibility.

Mama blue went on to lay an egg a day on schedule. We are done at 5. That was the weirdest thing ever.

Everyone else seemed to have a weird year except for me until now. I’m tempted to see what happened this morning, if she skipped a day or not.

I can’t wait to see how this goes! Rooting for single mom’s success! Hope she does well, and glad she doesn’t have 5 to take care of!

Carol, if it wasn’t for my cell camera I would not have believed my eyes. Crazy! Nest was built and looked complete a week after fledge so I have been monitoring like a crazy person!

My first 9 (2 nestings) haven’t moved 2 doors down this year and are up in the pines behind my house. I am so happy to get to hear their little chirps! Nest 3 is all complete so it is looking like a wonderful year!!!!
