Good going Chris!!
Hi Chris:
I know how you feel. Lost one set of Bluebirds to a bear last year and I was broken hearted but in just a short time mama had built anther nest and all was right with the world. I see your birds are doing the same, so all’s well that ends well.-

Sassy.
My unprofessional advice would be to remove the whole thing just like what would happen if it were raided by a raccoon or bear. She will rebuild the nest and lay a new set of eggs.
I know things like this are not easy but after 27 days I cannot see anything happening.
Connie (PA)Judy, great news about your fledglings. That is strange about the one egg disappearing, maybe Mama took it out.
I need to get out and clean my nest box too. Maybe tomorrow if it is not raining.
House wrens showed up here this week so one more obstacle to over come, but that is how it is in nature.
Connie (PA)Hi Carol
I never had a spooked up, but maybe I will get the supplies and do that when the next nest and first egg appear.
Thanks for the info.
Connie (PA)So sorry to read this news Matt. It is heartbreaking.
I lost 5 of mine to a bear last year, so I understand how you feel.
Good Luck with the next nestlings.
ConnieChris, he sure isn’t.
ConnieHow cute David, the perfect picture.
ConnieWow Chris, that is exciting news. Loved the pictures, thanks for sending them.
Like Dana said there is no shame in loving our Blues, I whistle for mine to come to the feeder and talk to them as they land in the above the feeder.
ConnieHi Rich, I hope 🤞 you have better news to report soon. It is nerve wracking waiting for things to happen. I expected my brood to fledge in 17 days but it was 20, so I think this see-saw weather has things messed up. Keep us informed.
ConnieThank you Dana, it was a little nerve wracking this year with the freezing temps and I was so relieved when I heard them cheeping when the mealworms were being delivered by the parents. Now they are in the trees so when this weather settles down a little I will clean out the box, ready for the next bout of bluebird joy.
ConnieThank you Carol. So glad they made it through the freezing temps.
Hope all of yours are doing good.
ConnieThank you David.
Connie (PA)Chris, I am anxiously awaiting your good news about the nestlings. Fingers crossed they are Bluebirds.
Connie (PA)Hi Dana:
So sorry to hear about the loss of a family member, please accept my deepest sympathy. 😢
Happy to hear about the hatchlings, sorry one didn’t make it, but 4 is a good number.
Keep us informed on their progress.
